WMA’s public film series continues this spring with a screening of Sydney Lumet’s The Wiz, the popular film adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s children’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with an all African-American cast, starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Nipsey Russell, Ted Ross, Lena Horne, and Richard Pryor. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets to cozy up with a date, make it a family night, or enjoy some well-deserved alone time (with popcorn, of course). Food trucks and will provide dinner, drinks, and movie munchies. WMA’s galleries will be open beginning at 6 p.m. so visitors can take in current exhibitions before the movie starts.
Screen on the Green is a free, seasonal film series taking place each spring and fall on first Fridays in the garden of the Wiregrass Museum of Art. In case of rain, movies will be shown in the Museum’s Great Hall or Main Gallery.
