Artists are the heart of our growing cultural community, and we’re working to provide additional platforms for local/regional artists and creatives.
WMA is launching, as part of its online shopping experience, a marketplace to support the sale of works by Alabama artists. Sale proceeds will go directly to artists (Shipping fee is coordinated with artist after purchase).
Terms and Conditions
Call for Entries: Artists are the heart of our growing cultural community and core to WMA’s mission. We are working to provide additional platforms to support local and regional artists and creatives. Sale proceeds will go directly to artists (buyer will handle shipping after purchase).
Eligibility: This call is open only to artists living or working in the state of Alabama. Artists can submit up to 5 works for consideration. Works will be posted to the online shop on a rolling basis. Priority will be offered to those artists who have participated in WMA programs within the last 5 years.
This call is open to all mediums, sizes, and content. It is the responsibility of the artist to ensure that the work is available for sale. We encourage artists to keep in mind the interests and concerns of buyers as you select a work to post for sale.
Timing of Posts to the Shop: WMA will work to create a steady pace of artworks made available to the shop. WMA retains full discretion to increase or decrease the rate at which artworks are posted, and to create a “click through to image” option for potentially explicit content.
The first collection of artworks will be made available for sale through WMA’s online shop platform on March 1, 2021
Notification: Artists will receive an automatic notification by email upon submission of the completed form. Due to the anticipation of a large number of submissions, you will only be notified should your work be included in the shop, and timing of posting is dependent upon the number of submissions received. Priority posting will be offered to those artists who have participated in WMA programs within the last 5 years. Please no inquiries.
Sales: 100% of the proceeds will be returned to artists net proceeds (less a 8% credit card processing and administration fees). Payment will be in the form of a check, and will be sent to the artists upon shipment of work. Artists should notify the museum with confirmation of shipping. Buyers are responsible for payment and coordination of shipping/delivery directly with artists. Due to work-from-home status for WMA staff, please allow up to three weeks for a check to be processed and mailed after a sale is made; every attempt will be made to process checks as quickly as possible.
