Art is EVERYWHERE: A Cross-curricular Workshop for DCS Teachers
Art is EVERYWHERE: A Cross-curricular Workshop
Are you struggling with art integration across the curriculum? Do you need some fresh ideas for how to incorporate a little art into your science, math, and reading lesson plans? Do you love hands on projects and collaborative learning with your peers? Then this workshop is for YOU!
Join WMA Art Educators Amanda Holcomb and Brook McGinnis as they lead you through a three-hour exploration of art integration. You will first be walked through the basics of integrating art into other subject matter and how that relates back to Alabama State Standards. Next you will be led through a lesson plan where you will be creating your own work of art. Lastly, you will work together in grade or subject groups to design your own cross-curricular art lesson plan. There will be breakout sessions where you will be able to learn different mediums and techniques, such as how to make air dry clay, salt painting, and encaustic painting. Come ready to learn and create!
Open to all Dothan City Schools teachers.
