November Adult Art Class Series
Want a creative end to your work day? Come to WMA after hours to immerse yourself in wonderful art! A three-class series will be held once a quarter (February, May, August, November) on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays of the month. Each month’s series will focus on an artist through the in-depth study of a piece by that artist on display at WMA. Once familiar with the individual work, students will learn how to create their own unique work of art in the same medium.
During November’s class series, students will learn about numerous works in WMA’s permanent collection, including Nora Unwin’s Eggplant, found in the museum’s entrance galleries. Each week, the class will discuss a different technique used to create a work of art on display in the galleries, then go upstairs to the studio to learn how to create their own work. Students will learn how to design and carve linoleum, let loose with mono-printing, and delve into lithography.
Classes will be held in WMA’s studio on November 7th, 14th, and 21st from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
