DOTHAN, Alabama — July 16, 2025- The Wiregrass Museum of Art (WMA), in collaboration with Visit Dothan, is proud to announce an exciting new partnership that brings the work of Wiregrass-area artists into the heart of the community.
Beginning this month, the Visit Dothan office will host quarterly rotating exhibitions, spotlighting the creative voices that help shape our region. This new initiative gives local artists the opportunity to showcase their work in a high-traffic, public space connecting residents and visitors alike with the vibrant art and culture of the Wiregrass.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Visit Dothan on this new initiative,” said Dana-Marie Lemmer, Executive Director and Curator at the Wiregrass Museum of Art. “This collaboration supports WMA’s mission to cultivate creativity and expand access to the arts, and it gives artists a unique opportunity to share their work with a broader public in a high-traffic community space.”

The first featured artist is Hannah Edgman, whose series Beauty Beyond the Orange is currently on view at Visit Dothan. Using clay, acrylic, and watercolor, Edgman transforms everyday local scenes, like construction zones and rural intersections into bold, thought-provoking works. Her use of symbols, including the iconic orange traffic cone, challenges viewers to find unexpected beauty and resilience in their surroundings.
“Partnering with the Wiregrass Museum of Art is a powerful way for Visit Dothan to celebrate the creative talent rooted in our region,” said Hannah Shiver, Executive Director of Visit Dothan. “By showcasing local artists in our space, we’re not only enhancing the visitor experience we’re creating meaningful connections between community and culture.”
This exciting partnership will officially debut during the August edition of the First Friday Art Crawl. The event will begin at 4:00 P.M. on August 1 at the Visit Dothan office. All are invited to attend this free event to enjoy art, conversation, and community spirit.
