Whew! If your summer has been anything like ours, I know that it has been a whirlwind!
We kicked off our 2025 summer season by creating 14 art integrated literacy kits that can now be borrowed from the museum by both parents and teachers alike. You can read more about the process here.
We opened them up to the public with a day long PD session with Houston County elementary educators to show their Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teachers how to use the kits. Then they got to borrow the kits so that the students in their week long Summer Reading Camps had access to an hour long arts integrated lesson EVERY day of camp!
Teachers had an opportunity to both see how the lessons are meant to be taught, as well doing each art project for themselves.
Giving them practice, experience, and confidence in using both the lessons and the materials in their own classes.
We are so pleased with how much the students and teachers enjoyed the lessons!
