Letter from the Director – Spring 2024

Dear Friends and Members, 

As the vibrant hues of spring begin to bloom, it brings with it an exciting new quarter at WMA. We are thrilled to share with you our lineup of new exhibitions, events, and programs designed to ‘elevate the everyday’ and foster a deeper connection with our community.

This spring, we invite you to immerse yourselves in the captivating world of art with our latest exhibitions. From thought-provoking contemporary pieces on loan from the Alabama Contemporary Art Center to innovative works from the permanent collection, there is something for everyone. In addition to our exhibitions, we continue to offer a diverse schedule of events and programs tailored to engage and inspire audiences of all ages. We hope to see you all at One Night Only, our annual members-only event on May 2 as we celebrate ‘a color story’ throughout the museum. And from visiting artist workshops and talks to Dothan’s Messiest Summer Camps, there are opportunities to explore and expand your appreciation for the arts.

At the heart of our mission lies the belief that art has the power to transform lives and build bridges within our community. As a hub for creativity, innovation, and expression, WMA serves as a springboard of inspiration, fostering dialogue, empathy, and understanding. Through our exhibitions, events, and educational programs, we aim to cultivate a culture of inclusivity and appreciation for the arts, enriching the lives of individuals and families alike.
