Cyanotypes are one of the oldest photographic printing processes in photography. Cyanotypes involve a mixture of iron compounds, which when exposed to UV light and washed in water oxidize, create Prussian Blue images. Join visiting artist Will Jacks while he and his students teach you about this 150+ year practice.
“Will Jacks is a process artist best known for his photographic work, but also incorporates explorations with land, objects, sound, video, and community engagement into his practice. His research examines the blurred areas between art and journalism, individual and collective, and the impact of each on the other.” (Source: Troy University at www.troy.edu)
