Drawing from Wiregrass Museum of Art’s permanent collection, Here & Beyond offers a broad look at the artists, ideas, and stories represented in the Museum’s holdings. Bringing together work by local and Alabama artists alongside national and international voices, the exhibition explores the connections between regional experience and broader conversations in art history.
Featuring painting, photography, and sculpture—including recent acquisitions—the exhibition highlights the depth and evolving nature of the Museum’s collection. Together, these works demonstrate how art can reflect the particular character of a place while also engaging with ideas, movements, and experiences that extend far beyond it.
At its heart, Here & Beyond celebrates the importance of collecting art from this region while placing those stories in conversation with a wider artistic landscape. The exhibition invites visitors to discover unexpected connections across time, place, medium, and perspective, and to see Wiregrass region as an important part of a much larger story.
