Saturdays are the perfect day for children and families to create and explore art together! First Saturday Family Day, one of WMA's longest-running educational programs, offers free art activities on the first Saturday of every month for lifelong learners of all ages.

Still life drawing can be intimidating, but no worries, Orran Scruggs is here to help!! Join Orran’s class to learn about different drawing, shading, and coloring techniques to add to your still life sketches. This class is open for all levels of expertise.

Dig your hands into some clay and see what you create! Austin will lead campers through natural clay projects that are sure to spark their creativity. Appropriate for all levels of expertise. Note: art works will need to be kiln fired and will be available three weeks after camp.

Ever been curious about sewing, weaving, or cross stitching? Kylie Parker will teach campers basic sewing techniques and other fiber arts related skills during this week long camp.

Brandon will help campers plan, design, and sequence their own comic strips. Pulling inspiration from professional comic artists and writers. Students will create thumbnail sketches and design their own characters and stories for their comic.

Come wander the galleries, have a drink at the cash bar, and take in the art on view. You might even have a chance to speak with one of the exhibiting artists or try your hand at an in-gallery activity!

Are your kiddos obsessed with Sonic, Pokemon, Disney, or Nickelodeon characters? With this class, students will learn to draw these pre-existing characters with their own twist. Jacqueline Furlong will help students draw these pre-existing characters while teaching campers how to add their own style elements.
