Fresh Perspectives: Selections from the Permanent Collection

October 20, 2023 - February 17, 2024

Fresh Perspectives showcases a selection of works from WMA’s permanent collection, featuring work that serves as the foundation of the museum’s educational programs and temporary exhibition schedule. Representing a remarkable journey over the museum’s history, this exhibition includes some of the museum’s early acquisitions as well as work from its most recent acquisition of 160 works.

WMA’s permanent collection is diverse and dynamic, and has been largely donated by generous supporters who believe in the power of art to build up communities. The significance of our collection cannot be overstated. These works, held in the public’s trust, are a source of inspiration, education, and reflection, offering visitors and students the opportunity to explore artistic styles, movements, subject matters, and more.  At WMA, we believe that building museum collections is a vital commitment to our community, as these works serve as the visual tapestry of our shared culture, history, and identity.
