Wells Fargo lends support to WMA for artist programs and virtual offerings

WMA has received support from Wells Fargo for museum programs and virtual offerings that respond to the community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. A grant in the amount of $5,000 provided funding for digital lessons and activities, including “art breaks” on social media and special content from artists. This funding will also support arts-based learning kits for area students.

“WMA appreciates the continued support from Wells Fargo, who has in years past helped to fund programs like First Saturday Family Day and Bus on Us at WMA. As we remain adaptable and responsive to the needs of our community, we are thankful for their willingness to provide grant funding for nontraditional programs, digital offerings, and artist-focused projects during this crucial time,” said Melissa Rea, the museum’s development director.

These programs and virtual offerings encourage cultural sharing among Wiregrass residents, helping to connect people to each other and to arts learning resources during a time of extended physical distancing and limited travel.
