WMA celebrated its vibrant member community with this year’s annual member party, One Night Only: Prom Night on Thursday, May 5th. Attendees enjoyed taking inspiration from the theme, wearing their favorite prom looks over the decades, and posed for classic prom photos within the museum’s galleries.
One Night Only offered members a chance to connect with each other through art and artmaking inside the museum’s transformed spaces for prom night. Guests created their own paper flower corsages and boutonnieres within the Blumberg Gallery, surrounded by works in the exhibition Exquisite Disorientation: Sarah Marshall, and enjoyed music while taking in Sonya Yong James: The Eye of a Needle and The Witch Doctor’s Chapel.
And, thanks to our community’s response to the museum’s annual member drive, this base of supporters grew even more this year, with new members joining from Dothan, Enterprise, Headland, Daleville, Troy, Slocomb, Midland City, and Port St. Joe, and Malone in Florida.
At WMA, members connect with our community at fun events, exciting exhibitions, and innovative programs, and continue to discover the art and artists of our time. WMA is a great place to explore new ideas, find special interests, and be inspired. Become a new member this year, or renew your support to help bring more than 80 art happenings to life, including community events like Write Night and First Saturday Family Day. And, take advantage of new member benefits, including a 10% discount at the Museum Shop, and increased benefits for Supporter level and above, including members-only travel, reciprocal benefits at more than 1,000 museums across the U.S., and tickets to special events.
Give creativity, education, innovation, and opportunity to our Wiregrass neighbors through your museum membership – and be there to celebrate One Night Only next year with WMA’s fun members!
